Engineered Hardwood Floors: 101

For those that didn't read our last post about solid hardwood, we highly suggest that you do, so you can have better understanding of this topic. If you already read "Solid Hardwood Floors: 101", great, let's get an understanding of engineered hardwood!

Engineered hardwood structure contains two parts in other word layers. Top layer is solid wood, but not the whole plank as we remember from the other post. It can be paper-thin veneer or 4mm thick. Bottom layer is usually plywood.

On this picture you can see top layer(solid), bottom layer(plywood).

This is most common 2 layer engineered hardwood plank. Nowadays it becomes popular to use softwood instead of plywood. To learn more visit the specified category.
